ATTENTION Adopters, Rescues & Shelters:  If there is a specific dog(s) that you want, call the Shelter during open hours to sign up.

Per State Law stray dogs are held at the Shelter for four (4) Business Days to give the owner a chance to reclaim them.  The "Release Date" is the date the dog is available for Adoption, Rescue or Transfer.  The "Final Date" is subject to change and is the date the animal will no longer be on the Web Site.  This is an estimated date given when the animal arrives and may change at any time.  If for medical and/or behavioral reasons the dog is not adoptable, it will be marked "Pick Up By Owner Only".  If you have any questions, please call the Shelter during open hours at 517-639-3210.

**It is a State Law that any animal adopted from a Shelter must get spayed or neutered.

**It is a State Law that all dogs (no exceptions) must be licensed and the license must be on the dog.  Approximately 60% of the dogs brought into this Shelter have a collar on with no license and 40% have no collar at all.

**It is against State Law to dump an animal anywhere in the State of Michigan including at an Animal Shelter after it is closed.
