Parks and Recreation

Park Trustees were first appointed in the early 1960's by a group then called the County Supervisors. The Park System began with one Park called Memorial Park located on Behnke Road, in 1964. The System has grown to five parks to date, with over 120 acres.

MEMORIAL PARK: 517-279-2254

• On Messenger Lake, west of downtown Coldwater on U.S. 12, approximately 1 mile to Behnke Road, then right 1000 feet.
• Acquired in 1964.

• Acquired in 1972.

GILEAD LAKE PARK

• Approximately 6 miles South of Bronson on Booth Road.
• Leased in 1975.
• Approximately 6 acres.

• Acquired in 1971 and 1972
• Approximately 60 acres.
